Atelier Boom-Town designed the house as two intersecting volumes, which are intended to be inspired by the shape of the traditional Canadian farms that can be found built nearby.

Dark tin forms the roof and accent details to contrast with the walls covered in untreated cedar which will patina and turn silver over time.

“Between sky and rivers, this small structure stands in an impressive landscape,” says Atelier Boom-Town in a description of the project.

The layout takes shape here, like a piece of driftwood, carried by time and currents, offering a haven of relaxation, humble and discreet, opposed to the opulent beauty of the landscape.

For the interiors, the architects chose a minimal approach, using monochrome tones and wood accents. Polished concrete slabs run the length of the ground floor to form two separate levels to increase the living space.
